David Pecor is primarily responsible for curating medically important arthropod collections within the U.S. National Museum (USNM), housed at the Smithsonian Institution. His responsibilities include caring for existing specimens, acquisition of new specimens and providing access to the collections for researchers by issuing specimen loans and hosting visitors.
Mr. Pecor’s research interests include novel techniques for museum specimen digitization and exploring insights into vector ecology using museum collection data. He currently provides curatorial services for the Culicidae, Ceratopogonidae, Chironomidae, Simuliidae, Psychodidae, Chaoboridae, Corethrellidae, Hippoboscidae and Dixidae collections within the USNM.
Mr. Pecor received his Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies from University of Montana.
