Section II: WRBU Sand Fly Mounting Protocol

Positioning Dissected Parts

After curing, cover the mount with a cover glass that is suitable for the size of the specimen and make sure enough fluid is used to cover the area under the glass and to allow for some evaporation and shrinkage.

1. Add drop of Euparal to clean cover slip and place directly over top mounted specimen. Place slides back into oven to dry for 2 weeks.

2. During this time, examine specimens using a compound microscope and record any additional observations in lab notebook.
