Adults of Lutzomyia pinottii have been collected from animal baited traps set in a tropical moist forest in Venezuela (Feliciangeli et al. 1988).

Medical Importance

Natural trypanosome infection has been reported from L. pinottii in Para, Brazil (Ryan et al. 1987c).
