SCORPION CLASSIFICATION

This information reflects views on the classification of scorpions, based on Dr. Stockwell's Ph.D. dissertation, “Revision of the phylogeny and higher classification of scorpions (Chelicerata)”, from 1989. The supra-generic classification is sequenced and annotated. However, the order of the listing of the genera for each category does not imply any phylogenetic relationship. Fossil taxa are marked by a dagger (†). The cladograms on which this classification are based are also available.

Class SCORPIONIDA Latreille, 1810
