Bionomics

Immatures are found in the leaf axils of banana, taro, pineapple, crinum, and pandanus. Females readily bite both day and night in New Guinea and are night biters only on New Britain (Marks 1947).

Medical Importance

Vector of Wuchereria bancrofti in Papua New Guinea and New Britain (Marks 1947).
