Bionomics
Immatures are commonly found in the axils of aroid-type plants, banana, and abaca plants. Females feed readily on humans, entering habitations if necessary, at all hours of the day and night (Knight and Laffoon 1946).

Medical Importance
Primary vector of filariasis in the Philippines (Suguri, Cabrera, et al. 1985).
