Bionomics
Larvae are typically found in muddy pools often near houses. Also found in barrow pits, buffalo wallows and artifical containers (Puri in Boyd 1949, Reid 1968).

Medical Importance
Primary malaria in the Celebes but of minor importance elsewhere (Reid 1968).
