Bionomics
In higher latitudes the larvae are found
in permanent pond and lake margins especially where shade is
present. In southern parts of its range the species is restricted
to cool spring-fed pools and similar habitats (Bates in
Boyd 1949).
Medical Importance
Malaria vector in Middle East but not
considered a vector in Europe (Bates in Boyd 1949).
