Bionomics
Little is known about the bionomics of Ficalbia. Larvae are found in swamps, marshes, ponds, pools, and river margins with abundant vegetation. Adults have been captured on lower vegetation and near the canopy in forest at night. Nothing is known about the biting habits of females.

1. Acrostichal setae on median longitudinal area of scutum present,
2. Lower mesepimeral setae absent,
3. Eyes touching above antenna,
4. Postspiracular setae absent,
5. Prespiracular setae absent,
6. First tarsomere of fore- and midlegs as long as or shorter than tarsomeres 2-5 combined,
7. Pulvilli absent,
8. Alula of wing with a fringe of projecting scales or setae.
